Dear Neighbor:
When I moved to Norridge nearly thirty years ago, I felt that my family and I were taking a big step up in life.
I liked that my neighbors felt the same–in so many ways living in Norridge meant to all of us that we had made it in life. We had good schools, safe neighborhoods, and a broad, diverse business community giving us ready access to a host of restaurants, retail stores, goods and services.
I’m afraid that today, thirty years later, we see that many of our community’s strengths have been diminished. And that our greatest asset–our people–the very families who pay the taxes and support our schools and village services–are not being heard.
In addition, between COVID-19 guidelines and restrictions and unrest across our region, the very fiber of our community is being challenged in unprecedented ways.
It’s time for a change. And it’s time for a change in leadership. That’s why I’m announcing today that I am running for Norridge Village President.
I want to be your Norridge Village President because I believe that I have the know-how and the passion to turn our village around. For over thirty years, I’ve worked alongside my friend and mentor, Secretary of State Jesse White. As Deputy Secretary and Chief of Staff to Jesse, I’ve worked to make customer service our number one priority. We cleaned up an office that at one time had been plagued with corruption. We enhanced laws creating safe roads and lowering teen driving deaths. And we created one of the best Organ Donor programs in the nation.
Working together we can be the Norridge we are meant to be–safe streets, attracting new businesses and strongly supporting our public schools–all with an eye on holding the line on taxes. It’s not just doing more, it’s doing more smartly.
Please take a minute to review my credentials and positions on a number of important issues, including resources for citizens and businesses specific to Norridge to help offset the numerous challenges brought on by COVID-19. Simply go to www.FriendsofTomBenigno.com On the website there are numerous ways to obtain this and other community information, express suggestions and, most importantly, for us to connect as neighbors who love Norridge.
I look forward to hearing from you over the next few months. And I will do all I can to earn your support.
Stay safe and healthy
